Hairlista Inc. Set To Help Haiti Earthquake Victims - You Can Help!

Since the devastating earthquake (7.0-magnitude) hit Haiti on January 12th 2010, I've been thinking of ways to donate extra money to help the people of Haiti. It has also come to my attention that another earthquake (magnitude-6.1) hit Haiti.

A member of Hairlista left me a note asking for us Hairlistas to pull together and make a contribution some how, some way. I, on behalf of Hairlista, whole-heartedly agreed with her!!

From Jan 20th to March 20th 2010, a portion of the proceeds from the sale of the Hairlista Inc. T-Shirts & Tote bags will be donated to the Canadian Red Cross to benefit & support relief efforts in Haiti—providing medical support, clean water, food and shelter to people who have lost everything.

When purchasing a T-shirt or Tote bag, not only are you representing Hairlista Inc. and investing in your Hair Care Journey, but you are also helping the millions people who have been affected by this disaster, and those who are now left homeless.

Let's pull together and do our part. Your help is needed!

Chat Room Feature + Proper Chat Room Etiquette *Must Read*

Here at Hairlista Inc., we have a chat room feature. It can be found at the bottom right hand corner of every page on the site.

The chat room is live, active and in real-time. Plus it shows who’s online, which is incredibly helpful. It's a good place to meet and talk to people from all around the world.

With that being said, chat room involvement requires that everyone use proper etiquette. Proper etiquette is needed for good relationships, good communication with other people, and it also makes the chat room experience a fun one.

Here are the Official Rules of Behaviour that will help your chat room experiences be more pleasant for you as well as the others in the room.

1. This is probably the most important rule. Do not verbally abuse, attack, embarrass, or threaten anyone else in the chat room, no matter what they might say to you. You are bound to find some troublemakers on the Internet. But, the best way to deal with them is to *first* report them to the Site Moderators ,then ignore them or simply leave the room.

2. Do not use obscene, offensive, vulgar or sexually explicit language. You don't need to use this kind of language in order to speak to someone or to get your point across to others.

3. Avoid typing your messages in all capital letters. This is considered to be screaming or yelling at another person, and, of course, this is nothing short of rude. If you want to *emphasize* a word or phrase, simply type an asterisk in before and then directly after your word or phrase. This is a widely recognized way to get your point across without being rude.

4. When you are entering the room, you should always greet everyone whether you know them or not. When someone else enters the room, you should make it a point to at least recognize their presence and greet them with a friendly "Hi (their user name)!"

5. No Spamming.

6. No Advertising.

7. Allow all users to make comments and ask questions. Don't try to take control of the room by flooding it with your own entries/convo. The chat room is to be shared amongst everyone equally.

8. If you want to address an individual in the room about something personal/specific, without posting it on the main chat screen, private message the user so that others can have the ability to chat.

By following these rules, your chat room experiences can be positive ones. You can make new friends and connect with others who share your same interests. Please use common sense and courtesy at all times. In addition to these rules, please get familiar with the Hairlista Site and Forum Rules which can be found here.

February Poll Results Are In...

The results for the February Poll are finally in! Here's what you Hairlista Divas voted for:

Where do you buy your hair, skin, beauty products?

88% said: At the store
11% said: Online

Majority of the Hairlista Divas said
they purchase their beauty related products in the store as opposed to online. I guess we prefer to actually see the product up close and personal before making that transaction.
